EuroEnergy is a renewable energy investment company with offices in London, Athens, Bucharest and Riga. EuroEnergy is a subsidiary of the Libra Group.
EuroEnergy has established a track record of acquiring, developing and operating renewable energy assets while dealing with complex regulatory frameworks and local market conditions. In Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean, EuroEnergy has invested in biogas plants, solar energy parks and wind farms. The company’s existing operating and pipeline projects have a combined generating capacity of around 200 MW.
One of our most recent developments involves investment in biogas projects – the production of gas fuel derived from the biological breakdown of organic matter. Biogas is produced by the anaerobic digestion or fermentation of biodegradable materials, typically crops grown specifically for energy production and various types of organic waste. Thus biogas production contributes to the Green Economy, agriculture and waste recycling.
In late 2010, EuroEnergy entered into a joint venture agreement to develop six biogas projects in Latvia. In 2015 we have acquired full ownership for three operational biogas plants in Latvia and hold three development licences.
In Greece, EuroEnergy has a pipeline of biogas projects located in central and Northern Greece. The first four projects with combined capacity of 4MW became fully licensed in 2014 and construction is expected to start in 2016. We believe that the biomass and biogas market will continue to offer opportunities and we are maintaining our growth in this sector through development and acquisition across Europe.
