The Lake Constance Foundation is a project-oriented organization for nature conservation. It works towards sustainable economy in the international Lake Constance area and beyond. The Lake Constance Foundation represents the Lake Constance in the global lake network Living Lakes.
Current fields of activities are:
• Sustainable Municipal Management
• Environmentally Fair Agriculture
• Re-naturalization of Riparian Forests and Wetlands
• Bioenergy and Regional Climate Protection
• Economy and Biodiversity
For the last six years the Lake Constance Foundation was managing the Bioenergy Region Lake Constance (www.bioenergie-region-bodensee.de), a network of more than 400 regional actors (SMEs, administrations, energy suppliers, farmers, foresters, financial institutes and NGOs). The organization of conferences, workshops and excursions are key actions to promote new and sustainable ways of bioenergy use. Our special focus lies non the activation, utilization and valorization of alternative biomass i.e. material from landscape conservation. LCF develops strategies and projects for the sustainable utilization of regional biomass and is especially interested in increasing regional added value.
