Description: An initial workshop was held in April 2016 in Lincoln, which was designed to bring together potentially interested partners from within the Lincolnshire, Humber and Yorkshire region and beyond. One of the ‘plenary’ speakers, introduced her work in particularly biogas projects in London (Community by design) at the Calthorpe Project, Camley Street Natural Park and also the community engagement in design and construction of a biogas facility at R-Urban Wick. The Isabel team in UK was informed in November 2016 that the Camley Street facility was available for a good home due to planned site development at Camley Street Nature Park.

Main actions so far:

• The UK ISABEL team have actively explored, via its network of different contacts and particularly Suma Wholefoods, one of the UK’s existing ‘core platform’ communities, potential opportunities for the micro AD unit to be moved, installed and used as demonstration unit.
• A board member of Incredible AquaGarden in Todmorden was identified who aims to create a National Learning Centre in the Calder Valley that will provide real and marketable skills in natural building, agro-ecology and micro-generation therefore providing an ideal opportunity.

Next steps:

The next step is to complete the transfer and install the unit. Once installed the unit will be commissioned in the first half of 2018 and will be used for education to support other community who expressed interest in micro AD and the principals also associated with larger scale biogas systems.
